WAX CARVING KIT
Yes. This kit is designed for beginners who have never made jewellery before.
Absolutely. While the kit is effective on its own, the online course offers expert guidance and will greatly benefit those new to the lost wax process.
The kit includes enough wax to create multiple designs. For most beginners, the wax should last several weeks to months, depending on how often you’re practising and the size of your designs.
No. The premium course covers metal refining and stone setting and is purchased separately.
Everyone’s setup is different, but beginners may find it helpful to have a metal baking tray to work over and a bench vice to support the mandrel while shaping rings. These items are optional and not required to begin.
A face mask (such as a 3M multipurpose mask), good ventilation, and working near an open window or fan are recommended when sculpting wax. A well-ventilated workspace is ideal.
No. This kit is designed for wax sculpting and carving only, which is the first stage of the lost wax jewellery making process. Casting is completed separately through a casting house.
No. You only need the wax sculpting kit (Stage 1) to begin. As this covers the first stage of the lost wax jewellery making process, designing and sculpting in wax. The metal refining kit is only needed later, once your designs have been returned from the casting house in metal form.
This kit is used to create wax designs, which can then be cast into sterling silver, gold, brass, or bronze.
No. Kits are currently available for delivery within Australia & NZ only.
No. This course and kit focus on wax sculpting and carving only. You’ll learn how to work with external casting houses to have your designs cast for you.
