Metal Bones Studio is a safe, welcoming space to get creative, have a chat and share a laugh while learning something new. Based in Yandina on the Sunshine Coast, our beginner-focused jewellery making workshops are relaxed, hands-on and designed to introduce you to the basics of wax sculpting.
YOU DON’T NEED TO BE “ARTISTIC”
You don’t need any jewellery making experience or a single artistic bone in your body for this workshop. We’ll guide you through the process step by step, and as you get the hang of it, you’ll have plenty of freedom to experiment and explore your own ideas, with support whenever you need it.
MEET YOUR INSTRUCTOR
Cassandra is the founder of Metal Bones Studio, where she approaches jewellery making as a form of creative expression rather than a traditional trade. After years of never really considering herself artistic, she discovered lost wax casting and finally found a creative outlet that felt intuitive. Now, she loves sharing that same creative freedom with people who might not consider themselves traditionally artistic but are curious to explore their creativity.

Yes! You will be fully supported and able to carve and sculpt your first ring from wax with ease. No prior jewellery making experience is needed.
The goal of the workshop is to sculpt one ring from wax. You’ll be guided through creating the ring band, then have the freedom to experiment with your own textures and details.
No. After the workshop, your wax ring will be handled by Cassandra, who will arrange for your design to be professionally cast into solid metal, capturing the detail of your original wax piece. Once cast, Cassandra will refine and polish your ring before returning it to you approximately 4 weeks after the workshop.
After the workshop, your wax model is sent to a professional casting facility. Once your silver casting is returned, it will be refined and polished before your finished ring is delivered to you.
You’ll provide a postal address on the day of the workshop. Once your ring has been cast, refined and polished, your finished piece will be sent to you with tracking via Australia Post.
Sterling silver casting is included in your $300 workshop ticket. If you’d prefer to cast your design in gold, this can be arranged as an optional upgrade. Gold casting typically costs several hundred dollars on top of the workshop ticket price, depending on the weight of your design and current gold prices.
No. This workshop focuses on designing and carving a metal-only ring and does not include stone setting.
You don’t need to bring anything. All tools and materials are provided. Bottled water will also be available on the day.
Yes. The workshop is run in a controlled environment and focuses on gentle wax carving and low-temperature wax melting with the use of a small soldering iron. No gas torches, kilns, or large exposed flames are used during the workshop.
Cancellations or rescheduling requests made more than 72 hours before the workshop are eligible for a full refund or reschedule. Cancellations or changes of mind within 72 hours of the workshop are non-refundable.
